Founded in March 2009, Matchlight is a new Glasgow based production company led by six leading figures in the Scottish production community including Ross Wilson, Matchlight's Creative Director and an International Emmy Award winning documentary maker.

Its creative team has extensive network production experience working with all of the UK?s network broadcasters as well as Sky and Discovery, spanning all factual genres ? observational documentary, current affairs, celebrity led investigations, history and science, both popular and serious.

Managing Director David Smith comes from IWC Media where he was Head of Business and Legal Affairs and helped grow the company into Scotland?s largest independent programme producer. The other co-founders are Creative Executives Iain Scollay (a Bafta winning producer/director), and Russell Leven and Andrew Abbott, who join the company from Edinburgh based production company Nobles Gate which they have been running successfully since 2000. Completing the Matchlight launch team is Jacqui Hayden as Head of Development who previously led development across all genres at IWC.

Matchlight is ideally placed to benefit from broadcasters? commitment to increasing programming supply from outside of London ? with Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland earmarked in particular. Matchlight also seeks to attract and nurture talent within Scotland, offer high level production representation for film-makers with network ambition, and forge further talent partnerships within Scotland's vibrant digital media sector.
