DCD Publishing expands Talent Division with a raft of new representation deals
In the run up to Brand Licensing Europe DCD Publishing has significantly expanded its newly-created Talent Division.
DCD has been appointed as global agent for creator of Alnwick Castle’s Poison Garden, The Duchess of Northumberland, visual artist Alison Jackson, journalist Kate Spicer, hot new Japanese chef Yuki Gomi, parenting coach Commando Dad, Strictly Come Dancing’s Vincent and Flavia, boxing legend Glen McCrory and entertainer Russell Grant.
The literary and brand licensing company, part of TV group DCD Media, specialises in brand development across all platforms including television, radio, publishing and consumer products.
DCD’s Talent Division already represents lifestyle expert and TV presenter Emma Forbes (the face of Sheer Cover make up) and Simon Mann for whom DCD brokered the publishing deal for his recent bestselling book ‘Cry Havoc’.
DCD Talent’s first deals include: Zalza - Russell Grant and Flavia Cacace’s fitness/dance concept – which ran through the summer on BBC’s This Morning, Yuki Gomi’s book publishing deal with Penguin for Sushi at Home, and a brand ambassador deals with Kai for their extensive range of high end cooking knives and Clearspring for their organic foods.
Discussions are under way with publishers for an Alison Jackson book based on her weekly Sunday Times magazine photographs. T shirts; paper products and jewellery are also under discussion.
The Duchess of Northumberland brand will include a health & beauty range, a marmalade and heritage food range based on the oldest marmalade recipe in the world from the archives of Alnwick Castle together with book tie-in deals. A license has already been agreed with Alan Paine for a range of country clothing.
Adrian Sington, Director of DCD Publishing, said: “We are thrilled to have such exciting talent on board – both established and up-and-coming personalities, whom we believe fill a gap in each of their respective markets. Our expertise and extensive contacts in publishing, TV and radio, retailer and social media will be put to the best use in building a complete brand identity across all profitable avenues for everyone we represent. We will also be making further announcements at BLE on imminent talent signings".
