DCD Publishing to represent hit TV series Dino Dan™ in the UK
As ITV becomes the broadcast home for the children’s series
DCD Publishing is delighted to announce that it has signed an agreement with The Licensing Shop Inc. to represent TV dinosaur brand Dino Dan for licensing and merchandising in the UK market.
The news comes after the announcement by ITV earlier this month that it had become the broadcast home in the UK for the hit CGI/live action series.
The award winning popular 52 x11’ TV series follows the adventures of paleontologist-in-training Dan Henderson and his friends, as he uncovers clues about the past and secrets of the dinosaurs. The show combines live action with amazing CGI dinosaurs.
Launched in 2010, Dino Dan was the most watched debut on Nick Jr. in the US, and is now playing globally across 90 countries on five continents including the UK.
Produced by the award-winning producer Sinking Ship Entertainment and distributed globally by Breakthrough Entertainment, the series now airs on ITV’s children’s channel, CITV, and Season 2 (additional 52x11) is currently in production and planning to launch later this year.
“Dino Dan already has multiple licenses on board and has sold over 250,000 DVDs in less than 7 months in the US market alone” Adrian Sington, CEO, DCD Publishing, said “the licensing potential in the UK is huge as dinosaurs continue to fascinate children of all ages. Dino Dan will fill an obvious gap in our market lending itself wonderfully to a whole range of exciting products”.
Steve Fowler, President of The Licensing Shop added, “We’re thrilled to be working with DCD Publishing in the UK market on Dino Dan. We have wanted to work with them for awhile now and the timing is excellent.”
