Magic Belles to be turned into video games following DCD Publishing deal

Popular children’s characters, Magic Belles, also nominated at the prestigious Lovie Awards.

DCD Publishing is delighted to announce that it has licensed pre school brand Magic Belles to Reward Studios in a worldwide deal that will take Magic Belles into the video gaming space.

On the back of their hugely popular website and critically acclaimed app, the Magic Belles and their fairy home of Bellevue will be brought to life in a new, exciting and fully interactive world. The first game release will be available on the Nintendo Wii U platform in winter 2014.

"We're absolutely delighted to be able to bring Magic Belles to a new platform and further strengthen our presence in the online and gaming world. We're also thrilled to be working with Reward Studios to offer our little fans the opportunity to fully experience the magical, musical world of the colourful fairy characters we've created," said Maxine Stinton, co-creator of Magic Belles.

The Magic Belles website has also just been named a Finalist for Best Youth Website in the 3rd Annual Lovie Awards – the leading European award honouring excellence on the Internet. The jury is comprised of web industry experts, including Co-founder of TechHub Mike Butcher, Presenter Stephen Fry and WIRED Editor at Large Ben Hammersley.

Roberto Ritondo, CEO, Reward Studios, commented: “The game will provide the ultimate ‘Magic Belles’ experience through an immediate style, supported by a big number of surprises that will not fail to produce great fun.”

MagicBelles.com is a safe, wholesome and colourful website where parents and little ones aged 3 to 6 can meet the Magic Belles – six magical, musical fairies who look after life’s special wonders. The site features educational content about nature, music-making, games, animated stories, colouring, crafts and printable activities.
