One Direction:Where We Are in Cinemas This Weekend

Sequence Post's first ever big screen project, the hotly anticipated One Direction: Where We Are live concert film produced by Fulwell 73 for Syco Entertainment, is in cinemas nationwide this weekend, Saturday 11th - Sunday 12th October.

Produced by Jim Parsons and directed by Grammy-nominated Director Paul Dugdale (the team behind the Coldplay: Ghost Stories album film), the show was shot across two epic live performances at Milan’s iconic San Siro stadium and features all of One Directions’ biggest hits plus a 15 minute never-before-seen interview with the band cut with exclusive backstage tour footage.

Sequence (the DCD Media Group's post house) was delighted to have been asked to provide full end-to-end post across multiple suites for this 90 minute spectacular. After making the long journey from Milan to Fitzrovia the stunning footage was ingested, converted down to proxy and synced over a single weekend before full Offline and finishing using FCP7 and DaVinci Resolve.

Speaking of the post, Paul Dugdale said:

"It was essential the post production for One Direction: Where We Are was as efficient as possible as we were working to a very tight turn around in order to get the film into cinemas and on to DVD / Blu Ray for Christmas. We worked across three suites simultaneously cutting using up to 38 camera streams, some of which were working at 50fps. It was a colossal amount of data to wrangle, but Sequence rose to the challenge admirably. The workflow that Sequence created meant that I was kept fully up to date with latest cuts every single day, and the incredible attention to detail of the edit assistants and general technical coordination meant that this technically challenging project was kept on course without incident. I've done several large projects at Sequence now, pushing technology and throwing them new problems and challenges each time. They always rise to the occasion."

Viewers are given an exclusive front row seat on the band's amazing Where We Are tour as the concert film treats you to some awe-inspiring visuals, capturing everything from panoramic stadium views to up close and personal footage filmed on a camera attached to Niall’s guitar.

Sequence's Head of Post Kabir Jutla commented:

"We were obviously thrilled to be asked to provide the post for One Direction: Where We Are and it was great to work alongside Jim and Paul once more as well as Ben Winston and Fulwell 73. I am really proud of the whole team who worked tirelessly through to delivery. We are looking forward to celebrating when the Sequence crew goes to see it this weekend -  having watched it from the edit suites I have no doubt it will be even more spectacular on the big screen. The imagery is literally awesome and Will did a fantastic job on the grade."

The DVD will be released just in time for Christmas on 1st December and is expected to become the highest selling music DVD of the year.
